An attempt to turn "Fast and Furious" into a spy thriller a la James Bond or Jason Bourne does not work from the word "at all" - the logic is lame on both legs and arms at the same time, and the entertainment suffers. Something fresh, non-trivial and as heavy as the new film turned out to be. If Justin Lin had directed a prequel about the young Dominic Toretto and his rise as the king of California street racers, it could have turned out to be a cool old-school action movie in the spirit of the early parts. Fast and Furious 9 neither entertains nor surprises.īut there are interesting ideas in the film. But in the ninth part, no matter how the writers were perverted, this scheme failed. Fortunately, these films perfectly coped with their main task - to entertain, distract from the gray everyday life. While the new parts of "Fast and the Furious" were amused by races with a submarine on the Arctic ice and a flying safe, the audience turned a blind eye to many things. But it is no longer possible to be silent. For the time being, a lot was forgiven for the franchise about superhero street racers.
